Intended for non-mechanics like myself, below is a step-by-step description of how to change the oil and, optionally, inspect and clean the oil screen on a Honda Metropolitan. The discussion and photos are of a 2007 Metropolitan. I'm not familiar with which years may use different parts.

Online, there seems to be a lack of clear, complete, illustrated instructions for performing an oil change and oil-screen...

Hi folks,

I'm having trouble getting the love of my life to start first time & when running it's inconsistent with performance. The trouble seems to be the rubber inlet which is split/cracking. Are there any more "robust" alternatives to rubber or is there any other way to make her run smoother

Maybe a clutch problem?

I have a Genesis 125 scooter that has started to move forward on it's own. It's as if it's constantly in gear. When it's shut off, it's very difficult to move either forward or backward. Sometimes, it shuts off when I come to a stop.....

What do you think the problem is?

2006 Daelim Delphino 125 2 stroke

Ok so this is weird, but should be useful for many modern scooters. My fuel gauge is stuck in the Full position and I wondering why. To start it's an electronic gauge that turns on with the scooter.
-When I turn off the scooter the gauge stays in the same place; I assume it should go down. NOTE: THIS assumption is not correct it will stay up.
-It has three wires that feed the gauge. See update below for wire info....

Hey guys, Im new to the forum but I have a question. The tube that allows the exhaust to flow to the exhaust pipe is completely severed right through the middle which makes my scooter louder than a motorcycle. It's a basic rubber tube but I cannot find this part on the internet anywhere. The store I went to didnt have the part, but they told me if I order it online, then I can bring it to them and they will put it on. I've got a 50ish cc Peugeot Ludix One. It dosn't have a fuel gauge which is doing my thupiny bits in. Can you buy & fit them ... relativity cheaply & easily?

Ran out of gas..now it won't start

Today going to work, my scooter ran out of gas. I pushed it to the gas station, filled it up, and now it won't start. The battery still works, and my starter and electrics are working. It just won't turn over. I let it sit for a few hours just in case it was flooded. I checked it on my lunch break, and it is still having the same problems. Any suggestions? The scooter is only three months old. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone. I have just had a full engine rebuild on this scooter i have done 200 miles but it wont go faster than 45mph. I have been told its the rollers is this true. Also there is a rattleing sound when im doing 40mph is this also the rollers. Thanks

Honda Tact Battery Problem - tech help!

Hey all,

I've had a dead battery for ages on my bike, and I don't want to buy a new one unless I know it's charging properly.

So i'm wondering what voltage I should be getting across the terminals when it's running? My battery is meant to be 12v, but is sitting around 4-5v. When the engine is running and I rev it a bit, it got up over 8v.

Should I be getting 12v+ across these terminals on a dead battery? Is there another way to test if...

I want a new exhaust, mostly for looks because my stock exhaust is ugly but i also want to know if it will make any difference in performance or ruin the engine ??

ok I got my scooter running and was doing fine but know I have a new problem. My Chinese Jonway scooter always did 63mph no problem but now when I get to 50 it makes a sharp vrrrr sound and it pauses almost feels like the back wheel is stopping for a second and I cannot go over 50 mph. If I slow down to 40 I have no problem. Can anyone please help??

hi,
iv got a MBK nitro 50cc and iv been told that my clutch isnt engaging as wen i come to a stop the bike just juggers and cuts out.
to restart the bike i then have to push it slightly and put the revs on and away i go.
anyone have any ideas on what to do to sort this???

I am looking at Buddys, Kymcos, Syms, and Vespas. I have heard that Kymco has a parts warehouse in NC with shipping 2nd day. I have also heard that Genuine has been having a hard time getting parts out (look at modernbuddy.com). I have heard as well that Sym has problems getting parts. I'm so glad to have found this forum! Two weeks ago I bought my first scooter, a cream and tan Kymco People 50. I absolutely love it! I'd love it a little more, though, it it went just a teeny bit faster.

I'm currently looking at options for upgrading it. One local scooter shop offers an 80cc upgrade kit to add 15mph to it, which would be about $300. The dealer where I bought it offers derestricting it which they say would add about 5, maybe 10mph to it for...

looking at buying a 50cc scooter for use around school (suburban Atlanta area...Emory University). Considering Kymco Agility 50 and also the DLX 50 from Baccio. I cannot find much information on the Baccio scooter, but I know that they are made in China, which can be a bad thing. It is not cheap like some of its Chinese counterparts, as the MSRP is 1499. It also comes with a 1 yr parts and labor warranty. Anyone know anything about this brand? There is also one more scooter, made by Redstreak...

my scooter is only a few months old but the other day I went up a big hill no problem but coming down the hill, the bike made a kinda like a backfire sound and then cut out and will not start again. I was gong like 70mph when it happened my scooter only goes 62mph. I did stick the spark plug to the frame and getting no spark. Do you think the coil is bad or maybe I burned up the cdi??? My Vino 125 is backfiring

I got it a couple of weeks ago to replace my stolen scooter. It had an after market MRP exhaust and I put an open style air filter (Uni Pod air filter - so no airbox) on it. I rejetted it to a 105 main jet.
