Uk Chap Looking for Advice on Buying New Scooter

Hi All

Total noob here. Sadly 37 and still can't drive Anyway due to be made redundant soon. I live in Manchester UK and i am looking to take the CBT training/test which will allow me to ride a scooter up to 50 cc for up to 2 years. So i am looking for advice please on what to purchase.

1. Where do you live - Manchester/UK
2. Budget - £250-£1000
3. Style - Any
4. Gears or TaG which is...

Weird starter problem

My missis has an MBK Ovetto 50cc scooter which has developed a weird fault.
When applying the brakes while the engine is running the starter engages.
I have checked the switch for a short and there is none, i have checked the relay with a spare and still has the issue.

Can anyone point me in a possible direction for the cause. What tells the starting system if the engine is running so that the strarter does not crank?

In my constant search for 150's I like, I came across this scooter. The only problem is...its a Roketa. I know they can be OK, but I'm not really comfortable with doing the whole online thing. I know Roketa often just steals designs off of the other, more reliable, scooter brands. So, I was wondering if anyone has seen this bike from a different manufacturer.

Delayed Throttle

Hi

I am new here and i have a Peugeot Vivacity 2005 50cc Scooter.

I am having this problem when you twist the throttle and it takes like a few seconds to start reving, whick is very annoying when trying to pull away fast.

Is there soething wrong or does this happen with every Pug? What can I do to make it fast response?

I have upjetted from .55 to .59, derestricted the exhaust and variator and i have a Malossi red air filter...

Tank dies

I recently purchased about two months ago a used mid 90's (I'm assuming) Tank Viaggio. It's a 50cc beast of a machine but I'm running into a problem. My guess is its a dirty carb but I'd like you're guys input. It takes about 10 minutes of continuous cranking to finally get the scooter running, but it will only run while the choke is on. Once I turn to choke off it just dies. It has new gas and i just replaced the spark plug. What should i do?

Need help! Scooter won't stay running!

OK, this is my problem. I'll start my scooter, starts up fine. 20 -30 secs later it dies on me and I can't get it to start again. And sometimes when it seems to run fine, I'll ride it for a 2-3 blocks and the thing will die on me. Need help please!! Thanks

Looking for info on this company and anyone owing the 250cc model especially as I am considering to buy one as the 2399 price and 2 year warrenty are tempting and i like the fact they go over the bikes here in the usa and test drive.before shipping and they ship fully assembled . So far the only negative is the the service provider will be a new one for this brand and so cant answer questions about parts availability but I will email the company again and inquire about these issues. GTS exhausts

My GTS exhaust goes fairly regular so I thought I'd spend the money on a stainless steel one. I brought the Leo Vince which is absolutely brilliant. I had heard the Scorpion interfered with the centre stand but the Leo Vince looks really nice and has a nice burbing sound.

Thought I'd share that and give you my recommendation.

1) Does anyone know what the different information the LCD display shows such as MEAN Km/h, etc. At the moment I do not have an English manual. The dealer is about to order it.

this scooter is new to me. And is not a moped the question i have is this. Where is the oil drain and fill holes, also is it 4 storke or to stroke? its a 2003 jl50qt-21. this manual is a joke to me and it wont go faster than 28 mph (unless down hill with tail wind) tha only hole thats odvious is where the rear end is.And is just a plug !but not sure what goes their.

i got this scooter that has three holes one is for fuel one is for oil whats the third one for 2003 geely its the same as others just differnt body i also have a pet cock that has in out vent and one thats not marked which is which

Buddy International Italia vs. Sym Mio

Hi, I'm new to this forum and am currently on the waitlist for a Buddy International Italia but I also really like the look of the Sym Mio. I've been looking up reviews and I can't seem to come to a conclusion on which one I should get. I am pretty short (5' tall) but I think that both of them are fairly similar in height. I've sat on the Buddy but not the Mio. I'll most likely only be using the scooter around the city, to work, to the grocery store, etc. so most roads...

Excited to get my first scooter. But I read in the owners manual that you shouldn't go over 30KMH for the first 1000KM. That's a long time! Especially since I'm now limited to the roads I'm going on. What am going to do, drive around and around my neighborhood for 3 weeks, 2 hours a day? There's no way I can get on any actual roads around here and only go ~20 MPH.

So give it to me straight. Do I really need to do this for that long? The gauge now reads 12...

Honda SH50 or Honda Sky 50?

I found a Honda sh50 '94 for £395 but I'm now torn between that and a Honda Sky 50 for £495.
Obviously my budget is around £500 and this is my first scoot, although i have been dreaming of them for quite a while.
Do you think the 4 years less 'experience' is worth the extra £100?
Do any of you lot know of any resounding differences.
I realize it will be easier to find replacement parts for the sky as fundamentally similar models with the same name were...

Ok its my own fault I didnt read the website properly....I have just bought a DB125t-13 Scooter from Direct Bikes. I didn't read that they had to be assembled. So it came as a little of a shock when it arrived!!!
The instruction manual that has come with it is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard, there is no detail at all. I have absolutely NO idea where to start, I have tried to to search the internet for a more complex guide on how to put it together but I cannot find...
