Hello all.
I have a 2008 [no brand name chinese import] scooter. it has a 50cc 3.0 HP 1cyl engine. Its new..only had it for 2 months, with less than 85 miles on it. my brother purchased it as an alternative transportation method, but gave it to me as soon as he got his vehicle fixed. Now, before you have to ask:
It has never been low on oil, and all rubber hoses and fluids [oil] were changed before even starting it the FIRST time. I replaced the oil with a full synthetic reccommended to me by someone at a cycle shop.
I have an intermediate amount of auto mechanic sklls, and to me it almost seems as if its a carb problem, although ive completely dis assembled the carb, and cleaned it only to have it do the same thing.
there is fuel getting to the carb just fine.
the fuel tank has a vacuum pigiot...it wont release fuel unless theres a vacuum on the line...when i start the engine, and unplug the fuel hose from the carb, the fuel flows freely...and i dont mean a trickle, i mean it FLOWS.
Ive adjusted the fuel:air and idle speed screw to MANY diff settings, none of wich seem to make any difference.
Ive checked the jets on the inside of the carb, and all are clear..mind you, its only 2 months old anyway, so it SHOULD be okay.
Heres the problem:
I start the scooter..it starts right up.It has a smooth and normal sounding idle.
if you give it any throttle, especially if you "gun" it, it will either jump the rpms to just a little more than "idle" rpms, and then actually decrease rpms until it stalls, or if you let off the throttle it stablizes. if i go start it right now 10 times in a row, 9 of those times it will do this when you give it gas...the other time i can ride it about 50 ft and it will seem all okay, then it will bog just like normal, especially if any extra strain is put on the engine...the slightest hill makes it do it right away.
I dont have alot of money at the moment, and ive boggled my brain to death trying to figure out what i should do to get it driving again.
another thing...the vacuum lines...it could be a problem with those...i remember that when i first started to look under the seat..where all the internals are...i found 3 hoses that were just sitting there...i have NO IDEA how the vacuum lines are supposed to be, so this is also a problem...if the lines are wrong, will it cause this to happen?
Thanks for the patience and help.
