The Lambretta DUE50 is GONE...Long Live the Lambretta UNO150 |
Lead | ||

Yep, I could only take the 37-40mph top end of the 50cc for about 30 days. I should have test rode the bigger scooters the first time...lesson learned. I
traded for the Lmabretta UNO150. It is a 4 Stroke, 4 Valve GY6 Clone...The difference is like night and day. Scootering went from a chore to pure pleasure. The
MPG on the 50cc was really 77mpg (I did not know the odometer was in KILOMETERS). The new scoot has returned ~70 during breakin...so I think they will be about
even overall with much more speed and acceleration. Here are some pics...I took off the four "decals" and only left the "Lambretta
International" emblem on the front. I am going to do my own graphics in the future.

Took the new scoot on a group ride with 11 other scoots...4 Suzuki Burgmans 400cc, 2 GrandVista 250cc, Kymco Xciting 500cc, 2 Vespa Grandturismo 200cc, 1
People 250cc, 1 Kymco 125cc and my Lambretta UNO 150cc. We were traveling in the hills near Fredericksburg, Texas at speeds of 55-65. I could basically keep up
at those speeds and if I timed the BIGGER CLIMBS I could carry enough speed to not hold up the group. The Kymco 125 has a bit of trouble but the rider was also
inexperienced. We rode 180 miles and had a blast. At those speeds and on a new bike not really broken in...I averaged 68mpg...I think it is broken in by
now...lol.

Nice to hear the 50cc's shortcomings haven't put you off scootering.
We have a lot of people come into Scooter Forums saying only want a 50cc scoot and we tell them go bigger if you can mainly because any 50cc is underpowered for this day and age... Stu. |

The guages are pretty nice...especially having a Tach. The speedo is off by about 4 mph...I checked it today at 65 miles per hour. I modded the stock exhaust
myself instead of making the $250.00+ purchase of a new can. Down the road I will anty up but not until I get a new air filter setup and some jets for the
carb. Here is the "mod":
I used a hole bit of 29mm (1.1") and cut thru both layers of metal. Then I added a short 1 1/4" pipe about 3 " long as a muffler tip. I didn't even both cutting off the stock muffler tip since it is not really hurting anything. Painted it all "flat black" and voila! Sounds just a tiny bit deeper... 2008 Lambretta UNO150
